Technical Tours

The Technical Tours give you a unique opportunity to discover how and where some of the best wine in the world is produced. You will meet a number of the regions' premium winemakers and hear some of their intriguing stories about making wine in remarkably challenging landscapes. You will also be introduced to some cutting edge technology and innovation which weaves together New Zealand’s sustainability commitments with the desire to produce outstanding wine.

Four Technical Tours will take place on Tuesday 2 November. These technical tours are part of the Full Registration package and can be purchased as an add-on to the 2-Day Registration Package.

Canterbury and Waipara Valley

The Canterbury and Waipara Valley tour will take you to the best wineries of Waipara Valley, with lunch and winery tour at a spectacular venue. Experience the Heritage trail, the biodiversity trails and see one of Waipara's most modern processing facilities.

 

Central Otago

Fly into Queenstown and enjoy the breathtaking scenery surrounding the Central Otago wine region. The tour will provide endless possibilities for linking wine tourism in New Zealand with adventure and wildlife tourism.

 

Marlborough

Fly to Marlborough, New Zealand's largest wine region and home of the legendary Sauvignon Blanc. Discover the region’s premium wine product, leading wine-makers and the sub regions, where exciting developments and flavours are emerging.

 

Nelson

Discover the beauty and seclusion of the Nelson wine region. Woollaston Estates is the main location for the tour, which is a fine example of a top quality New Zealand winery, currently undergoing organic certification. This tour also blends art and wine, with a trip to the local art gallery.
